In June, on International Yoga Day, we were excited to hold a yoga event for the launch of a new yoga collection called Pics & Poses. A gentle Yoga master conducted a session in the empty courtyard in front of MESH, for about 25 local people and tailors from Faridabad which we followed with idlis and buttermilk in our shop. The atmosphere was cheerful, and we were please to do something with the local community.

We had fun choosing the brand name; a number of the products in the collection are hand woven and we measure the density of handwoven fabric by counting the pics per inch using one of those eye magnifiers that jewelers use. We figured if we provide the Pics you can do the Poses!

Now Pics & Poses collection is on our website and for those of you who look to yoga and exercise as a way to live better in the world, then this collection can only be an addition to that. We have hand-woven yoga mat carry-straps and exercise/stretch belts, yoga mats made from waste and a gorgeous handwoven cotton yoga dhurrie for those of you who don't want neoprene or plastic based materials as part of your yoga regimen. There are terrific folding cushions perfect for meditation or those poses that need a little lift and a great canvas tote bag for all the gear with a special slot for carrying the yoga mat.
All of these are made in workshops across India employing people with disabilities or affected by leprosy. So, as you calm yourself for a spell of stretching or exercise you can feel the additional delight of supporting them in their efforts to work for a living instead of being dependent on others.
We hope you enjoy this collection and will recommend it to others.
